Niklas Astedt Bags $758,443 at the WSOP Main Event

Niklas Astedt included another WSOP Circuit ring in his collection on Saturday evening, winning $758,443 in the $525 Main Event of the 2021 WSOP Super Circuit Online Series at GGPoker.

Astedt is well-known, having been recognized as the best poker player in the online world for numerous years at PocketFives. According to the website, the Swedish superstar has won over $22 million in online tournaments. What is more remarkable is the fact that his profile doesn’t have his GGPoker screenname, despite the fact that GGPoker’s PokerCraft has stated that he has earned about $11 million.

The Swedish poker superstar started the final table with a chip lead but fell down by roughly 4:1 against Yanfei “aoteman1888” Chi before winning the tournament.

Astedt became the first member of Team Champions at GGPoker, along with bagging his first WSOP Circuit ring and a large reward.

A custom avatar, Platinum Fish Party status, a Team Champions badge, a unique affiliate code, and a $50,000 tournament package that can be used for the GGPoker Online Series Main Event, the live WSOP Main Event, the live WSOP Europe Main Event, and other events upon agreement are all available to Team Champions. At live events, Astedt will also get access to the GGPoker lounge.

Chi started heads-up play with a roughly 4:1 chip advantage over Astedt, which he quickly increased to a 5:1 advantage. After betting all three streets with cowboys, including a jam on the river to double-up against Chi, who improved to a pair of tens holding ten-nine, Astedt was down but not out.

Before the last hand, Astedt managed to strike flushes in both hands, putting him with a dominating 4:1 chip lead.

Chi called off for 18 large blinds with king-seven suited after Astedt jammed the button with ace-four. Chi was eliminated in second place for $568,746 when the board went blank for him.
